FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

¿Quién es elegible para asistir? Establecida por el Programa de Educación para Migrantes del Estado de Washington, la participación en las Academias Atrevete a Soñar y Academia Académica es por invitación a aquellos estudiantes migrantes que cumplan con los siguientes criterios:

  • SE HAN MUDADO durante el año escolar

  • NO HAN cumplido con las normas de evaluaciones estatales

  • TIENEN deficiencia de crédito

¿Cómo? Se proporciona una lista de estudiantes elegibles para Prioridad de Servicios (PFS-inglés) que también incluye a los estudiantes con Necesidad al distrito escolar de los estudiantes invitados.

¿Por qué? Los estudiantes migrantes que asistan pueden beneficiarse de:

  • habilidades y estrategias para mejorar el aprendizaje académico

  • ser inspirados, retados y nutridos a través de mentores y la relación que desarrollan con otros estudiantes migrantes

¿Y Si ya asistí a una Academia Atrévete a Soñar Explorando Tú Futuro? Si ya has participado en Atrévete a Soñar, Explorando Tú Futuro como estudiante de 8 vo o 9 no grado, no podras asistir. Pero si ahora eres un estudiante de 10 o o 11o grado y te faltan créditos en matemáticas o ciencias, puede beneficiarte al asistir. Habla con tu consejero de la escuela para guía adicional.

Who is eligible to attend? Established by the Washington State Migrant Education Program, participation to the Dare to Dream and Academic Academies is by invitation for those migrant students who may meet the following criteria:

  • HAVE MOVED during the school year

  • HAVE NOT met standard on state assessments

  • ARE credit deficient

How? A listing of Priority for Services (PFS) eligible students is provided to the school district of those students that have been invited and includes eligible Needs students.

Why? Migrant students that attend may benefit from:

  • learning skills and strategies to improve academics

  • being inspired, challenged and nurtured through mentors and the relationship they develop with other migrant students

What if I already attended a Dare to Dream Exploring Your Future Academy? If you participated in Dare to Dream Exploring Your Future as an 8th or 9th grade student, you would not attend again. But if you are now a 10th or 11th grade student and are missing credits in math or science, you may benefit from attending. Check with your school counselor for additional guidance.
